Buddha's eyes on the golden tower of the Boudha Stupa in Kathmandu

All-seeing eyes of the Buddha, the Wisdom Eyes or simply Buddha's eyes on the golden spire of Boudhanath (the Boudha Stupa), the large stupa in Kathmandu. The eyes are said to represent the all-seeing wisdom of the Buddha, Buddha's all-seeing ability. They are painted on each of four sides of the tower, facing cardinal directions. Being the largest stupa in Nepal, Boudhanath is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Kathmandu Valley and one of the main tourist attractions in the capital. This photo was taken on a spring afternoon of a clear day, when the monument was lit by the warm rays of the low sun. This was photographed after the major reconstruction of the stupa that was essential following the 2015 Nepal earthquake (Gorkha earthquake) which severely damaged the monument.
