A fossil at Wadi al-Hitan, the Valley of the Whales (Whale Valley) – a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Sahara desert, Egypt. The place is known for its great number of fossils, particularly those of the early forms of whales called Archaeoceti, the mammals which lived here in Eocene. Wadi al-Hitan is a very significant site documenting the evolution.
