Description

Ladak pika (Ochotona ladacensis) laying on a granite stone in the upper part of Markha Valley, near Nyimaling in Ladakh. This small mammal inhabits high mountain meadows. The species belongs to the Lagomorpha order, so it is related to hares and rabbits rather than rodents. It has been categorized as the Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. Photographed in May in Zanskar Mountains, India.
