Shiva's Anger - Mammatus cloud above Kathmandu and the hindu god statue

Description

Mammatus cloud above the Kathmandu Durbar Square on a mid-April afternoon, shortly before the storm and heavy rainfall. It is the Hindu god Shiva in the foreground, sitting on his bull Nandi and pointing the clouds above with his trishul, the trident. The natural phenomenon seems to be the effect of the god’s rage or anger.

The statue is located atop of the gate to the Makhan Pashupati (also known as Mahendreshwor) temple at Makhan Tole, Durbar Square in Kathmandu.

18 April 2016, Nepal.
