Bardan Gompa – the dramatically located Buddhist monastery of the Bardan village in Zanskar, the sub-region of Ladakh in Northern India. Ladakh, often called Little Tibet, used to be a kingdom, ruled by kings of the Tibetan origin. The majority of the people of Ladakh follow the Tibetan Buddhism hence there are plenty of Buddhist monasteries here. A large number of them, like this one in Bardan, belong to the Drukpa Lineage (order or sect) of the Kagyu tradition of the Tibetan Buddhism.
