Description

Glacial landscape of the upper Imja Khola Valley seen from the Nangkartshang Peak (5083m) located above Dingboche, near to the Everest Base Camp trekking route. Peaks located on the valley closing ridge include Cho Polu, Num Ri and Baruntse. Behind that ridge is the world’s fifth highest mountain: Makalu. Its second peak, known as Makalu II or more often as Kangchungtse, is left of the main one and it is connected to it by a long ridge lowering at the Makalu La also seen from the viewpoint and on this photo. On the left hand side, in the valley and before the closing ridge, is Imja Tse – the popular, so called trekking peak, better know as Island Peak. Sagarmatha National Park, Solukhumbu, Everest Region, Nepal.
