Kangtega & Thamserku - view from Mongla

Description

Kangtega and Thamserku seen from Mong (Mongla) on a clear, November afternoon, shortly after the moonrise. The name of Kangtega, which main summit is hidden behind the visible part of the mountain, is said to mean Snow Saddle in the Sherpa language. To me however, it looks from here, more like a lazy cat resting on its belly and overlooking the valley. Mong or Mongla is a small settlement located on a sloping ridge, high above the valley, en-route of the Gokyo Trek and the alternative trail to the Everest Base Camp. It is an awesome viewpoint. Solukhumbum, Sagarmatha National Park, Everest Region, Nepal.
