Ama Dablam and a chorten

Description

Ama Dablam and a chorten (stupa) passed on the way between Deboche and Pangboche en-route to the Everest Base Camp in Nepal. The West Face with mountain’s famous hanging glacier dominates the view. To climb the summit, most of the mountaineers, including those on commercial expeditions, follow the south-west ridge, seen here on the right-hand side. This is the same route used when the mountain was first climbed in 1961. Everest Region - Sagarmatha National Park, Solukhumbu, Nepal.
