Alder swamp forest in Kampinos

Description

Alder swamp forest floor with clear tussocks, where common alder (Alnus glutinosa) trees grow, and wet depressions between them, where brown, dried sedges (Carex) of early spring are seen. Mosses and lichens, covering bark of the tree trunks, form the only green element in the view, dominated by the stagnant or slow flowing watercourse in the middle. Kampinos National Park, the large protected area of woods and meadows near Warsaw, in the Mazovia region, Central Europe. Masovian Voivodeship, Poland
